One of three pastels I'll have at the Georgetown Public Library in April, with the Pastel Society of Austin's member show.

Based on a scene near San Antonio, with a few changes to make it work better as a painting.  I was attracted by the brilliant light on the road and red blossoms.

This past weekend I went to Fredericksburg Texas to their First Friday Artwalk. Saw some beautiful work in several galleries, made me feel inferior and jealous. I had some time to spare, so I sat on the curb at two locations and did some sketches in my notebook with w/c pencil. Also got info on a possible portrait commission at one of the galleries, and that evening saw a great portrait demonstration by Clayton Beck in Georgetown.
